Our Values

BC Libraries Cooperative is guided by the 7 Cooperative Principles as well as the Core Values of Librarianship. Each of these value sets influenced the development of this Strategic Plan and inform the decisions and operations that carry it forward.

  • Improve foundational services and technologies based on engaged member participation and feedback
  • Explore new member-focused services and  technologies that help libraries help people
  • Deliver services that take a cooperative approach and support equity among members

Help members be catalysts for healthy, resilient communities

  • Explore and deliver cooperative approaches to help members respond to increasingly complex societal demands

Model and advance library and cooperative values
