Disaster Recovery Exercise a Success

This October, during the same week as BC’s ShakeOut, the Co-op ran its own disaster preparedness exercise as part of our Privacy & Security Management Plan (PSMP). Technical staff ran through a scenario in which the Co-op’s main hosting facility had been taken offline.

The team demonstrated they could restore core services in a timely way on servers in another Canadian hosting facility. The Co-op’s technical staff plan to repeat this exercise in the spring, focusing on services not covered in the first run.

This first exercise was a successful test of the resilience of our IT practices.
