Suzanne Rackoveis the current Director, Library + Academic Success Centre, and CAPER-BC at snəw̓eyəɬ leləm̓ | Langara College. From 2016-2022, she held the role of University Librarian at Emily Carr University of Art + Design (a Sitka Consortium member). Suzanne is currently the Incoming President of the British Columbia Library Association (BCLA) and has been actively involved in a variety of professional organizations including being on the executive board of the Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA) and two terms as President of the Council of Post-Secondary Library Directors of BC (CPSLD).   As an academic Library Director, I am eager to contribute my expertise to the board of a cooperative that supports libraries across Canada. My role has equipped me with a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by libraries, particularly in optimizing resource sharing and enhancing service delivery. By serving on this board, I aim to foster good governance and innovative solutions that will strengthen our library networks and enrich our communities. BCLC’s commitment to Open is particularly appealing as we grapple with issues of access and affordability for our libraries and our users. I am enthusiastic about the possibility of working alongside my colleagues in the knowledge sector to further our shared mission of empowering libraries and their patrons.
