Data Camp

Grab your rucksack and sign up a friend for Summer Camp

#EdTechCampUBC Camp is coming.

BC Libraries Cooperative is spreading the word about the next Camp event for library people — #EdTechCampUBC.  Forging networks of library innovation online relies on offline events like this one. Can you come to camp in July? Or, do you know someone who might?

#EdTechCampUBC is set to happen Friday, July 25, 2014 from 10:00AM to 3PM.  Please check out how the agenda for this unconference day is developing, ideas sheet is here.

So far there is a great reach of topics around Raspberry Pi, Arduinos, Maker Spaces, Library-based digital literacies and more.  Remember you don’t have to attend to lodge an idea or raise a problem on the talks ideas sheet.

Find out more about camps at this link.

Thank you #DatacampNV

BC Libraries Cooperative was proud to be a part of the first #datacampNV Thursday, March 13, 2014.

Read more about the day here:  http://datacampnv.org.  Lots of ideas to grow on the notes pages from camp.  Check them out at this link

Library Camp!  Surrey Libraries hosted Library Camp November 1, 2013 at City Centre Library. — we added the outcomes on our tools and resources page.  Check them out.

What is it? Time to get in there and learn from each other. Remix the web with open tools, examine how free you are online, consider how to run a #hackjam or host a hackfest. There’s time set aside to see what’s the latest with telling the stories of libraries with data or ask what data needs to stay open? If you wish to exchange innovative or interesting things you’ve done or want to do we love to have you at Camp.  Library Camps are semi-regular events to bring library people together who can support each other to learn and experience new opportunities.  Show up and share!

Is LibraryCamp right for me? Camp is designed for library people and people who love libraries, connections of community resources, hack culture, open data, etc. This will be what we make of it.

Questions or comments? Contact Tamarack or Maryann or join the conversation on Twitter #librarycampers and be open yourself

We are hoping to refer some great ideas from this group on to Code4LibBC later in November, as well.  Can’t do one? Do the other.  Or better yet. Do both?

Thank to all who came together for March 2013 #datacamp. Read the Data BC guestblog, recapping the event, look for us in BCLA Browser and check out notes pages here.
