Update from our Interim Executive Director

It has been a busy second half of the year at the Co-op and I am grateful for all the staff expertise and kindness that has been extended as I have been learning my role as Interim Executive Director.

Cloud Migration

This October the Systems and Sitka teams successfully migrated Sitka to a cloud hosted solution. This change happened with a minimum of downtime for Sitka libraries and we are grateful to our libraries for their help in making sure that the transition happened as smoothly as it did.
Overall, we have successfully migrated all co-op services to a cloud service with neither downtime nor unplanned service disruptions. This has been an enormous undertaking, and the systems team has done great work on this project.

Consortia Manager

In November Tami Setala, our Licensing Manager, migrated the Licensed Products renewals, subscriber data, and licensing information to Consortia Manager. This new interface is easier to use and will make invoicing, renewals and product selection easier for our member libraries.

Team Update

This December, Shannon Dineen will be retiring. Shannon is one of the Cooperative’s longest-serving staff members and a valued member of the Support Team. Shannon is known and appreciated for her skilled support, fantastic communication skills and how she often acted as the bridge for her colleagues for historical knowledge of the co-op. We wish Shannon all the best in her retirement!

Strategic Planning

The Co-op’s 2020-2024 Strategic Plan is nearing its completion, so the Board and Staff will be working together in updating the strategic plan and our goals starting in January 2025. We expect to be able to present a new plan before the AGM next year.
