Report from the 2016 Imagine BC Winner

On March 22nd, we announced with our partners the Irving K Barber Learning Centre at UBC and Simon Fraser University Library, that an ImagineBC grant was awarded to LinkVan, a website project designed to connect residents of Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES) with nearby resources.

The grant was used to employ residents of the DTES to grow the mobile-optimized LinkVan.ca website, and to facilitate 15 tech cafés and community outreach initiatives. Altogether, they provided tech support to over 300 residents!

We’re proud to have supported this great project, and are especially thrilled to hear that the tech cafés are continuing. Finally, we are happy to share their final report with you.
