Results of the 2016 AGM
We are pleased to announce the results of today’s BC Libraries Cooperative Annual General Meeting in Vancouver.
Nearly 60 delegates attended our 6th AGM, and throughout the week, one third of eligible voters cast their ballots. In the end, all motions were approved unanimously, and members elected Hilary Bloom and Dana McFarland as new directors. We send our special thanks to Jeff Narver for also having allowed his name to stand for this election; he was nominated by the Fraser Valley Regional Library. Learn more about our new directors.
The new chair of the BC Libraries Cooperative is Tracey Therrien, Director of the Gibsons & District Public Library, and the new Vice Chair and Chair Elect is Baharak Yousefi of Simon Fraser University Library.
Members also appointed by acclamation the new chairs of our business function groups: David Christensen is the new chair of the for the Sitka Business Function Group (SBFG) and Jay Peters is chair of the Licensing Business Function Group (LBFG). Learn more about our new BFG chairs.
Lastly, our ebook summit is underway with approximately 80 people attending. Watch for summaries and videos in the near future.
Thank you very much to all our nominees and to the board members whose terms concluded this year. Special appreciation goes out today to all the members who attended the AGM and who participate in elections and discussions. I am looking forward to the year of fruitful work ahead.
