Co-op member update – February, 2015

February 19, 2015

Co-op communications

Thank you for participating in the Co-op’s communication survey last month! Over 70% of Co-op members responded! Board and staff are working with Boldt Communications to refine our communications strategy and tactics now.

Coming soon to an event near you

Co-op staff look forward to training, speaking and learning with our members across Canada in what is shaping up to be a busy Spring schedule. If you have an event you’d like us to attend in person or virtually – we’d be thrilled! Please let us know by contacting office@bc.libraries.coop.

Board Meetings, minutes and member participation

A reminder that the Co-op Board meeting schedule and meeting minutes are posted on the Co-op website, at: https://bc.libraries.coop/about-us/board/

A member participation component is scheduled at the top of each Board agenda; Co-op member delegates or alternates wishing to address the Board may do so with one week’s prior notice to the Executive Director’s office. In the interests of efficiency, 15 minutes per member delegation is recommended, though the Board will follow up with further discussions and communications as needed.

AGM 2015

Planning for AGM 2015 will commence in March – please stay tuned for information about board vacancies, meeting date, location and more.

Announcing the availability of LibPress beyond BC!

What is LibPress? LibPress is a hosted Canadian website solution based on WordPress that helps libraries show off their unique services and connect online with their members.

Built by an organization that knows and understands libraries, and using feedback from the library community (including directors, staff and patrons) as well as research-based user experience design, LibPress offers visually-engaging, feature-rich websites that libraries can easily update on their own.

LibPress engages with other Co-op services and comes bundled with the Co-op’s extensive training and support. The Co-op has launched more than 30 LibPress websites in the past year. Click here to view a list of libraries using LibPress. To learn more about LibPress and to see what’s under the hood, have a look at the Overview Video and the Training Manual.

Interested in signing up? The next round of implementations will commence in May, 2015. To get on the list, please contact libpress@bc.libraries.coop
