2012 International Year of Co-operatives
The UN resolution on the International Year of Co-operatives, titled Co-operatives in Social Development, recognizes the diversity of the co-operative movement around the world and urges governments to take measures aimed at creating a supportive environment for the development of co-operatives.
On January 12, 2012 co-operators and co-op supporters from around Canada came together to celebrate the 2012 UN International Year of Co-operatives. Fourteen cities across the country hosted 14 simultaneous events to mark this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity
