At 9am PDT the Co-op experienced a full-scale outage of our servers and infrastructures. This was caused by a backup power generator at our co-location facility unexpectedly failing. As part of regular maintenance the BC Libraries Cooperative will be upgrading our webmail server on Sunday August 23rd from 9:00pm to 12:00am PDT. On April 8, 2014, Microsoft announced it was ending Extended Support for Windows XP. Due to an inadvertent problem with a network router that resulted in DNS issues, servers hosted by the Co-op (including, but not limited to Sitka, Libpress, mail and Licensing authentication sources) were temporarily unreachable today between 9:15 and 11am PDT. The BC Libraries Cooperative advises we can no longer support the use of Internet Explorer 6. There is a recently discovered security flaw in SSL v3, Security Socket Layer, on which IE 6 relies, and which is not fixable in that browser.
